Preparing for the Moments That Matter Most

Preparing for the Moments That Matter Most

Recently, the North Shore Health EMS team had the opportunity to partner with the staff at Temperance River State Park for a day centered on emergency preparedness, hands-on learning, and collaboration.

Together, we explored how to recognize and respond to medical emergencies, practiced life-saving skills through realistic outdoor scenarios, and worked side by side using many of the same tools and techniques our EMS crews rely on every day. Whether an emergency happens on a hiking trail, at a campground, or anywhere in our community, early recognition and immediate action can make a meaningful difference before EMS arrives.

We're incredibly grateful to our in-house CPR instructors and EMS team for sharing their knowledge and experience, and to the Temperance River State Park staff for their enthusiasm, engagement, and commitment to learning. Their willingness to invest in these skills reflects a shared commitment to keeping our community and visitors safe.

Partnerships like these are at the heart of rural healthcare. At North Shore Health, we're proud to work alongside local organizations to strengthen emergency preparedness, build confidence, and ensure we're ready to respond—together.

We look forward to more opportunities like this in the future!
