This was very reminiscent of our June 2023 Beth Lake rescue when Eric and Dennis from Cook County Search and Rescue and Shalom, Belland, and I ventured out across three lakes and a mile-long portage to rescue a patient. I sure was proud of my team that day. Still am.
And now, another 8-hour rescue under our team’s belt, canoeing over three lakes and trudging through two portages. This time, with only a headlamp and the moonlight to guide them.
I’ve said this before.
They don’t teach this sorta thing in EMT or paramedic school.
But EMT Garrett and Paramedic Eric rose to the occasion.
Incredible teamwork, communication, endurance, and patient care.
