Prepared people build stronger, safer communities!

Prepared people build stronger, safer communities!

This past weekend, we had the honor of hosting a free Wilderness First Responder skills course. We had a great mix of area first responders and community members all showing up with the same goal: learning practical skills that save lives when help may be far away.

The course combined classroom instruction, hands-on skills, and an outdoor scenario, covering:

  • Understanding wilderness response
  • Environmental emergencies
  • Wound management and splinting
  • Stop-the-Bleed techniques

A big thank you to everyone who came out, asked great questions, and were fully engaged.

A special shout-out to our instructor, Kate Batten (NSH Paramedic / Certified Wilderness Paramedic) for outstanding instruction and leadership throughout the course.
