On Saturday, North Shore Health EMS hosted a fun, hands-on Wilderness First Responder Skills Course.
Our very own paramedic and wilderness first responder instructor, Kate Batten, provided a wealth of information, tips, tricks, and practical applications for caring for those with various injuries when resources are tight.
This four-hour, interactive, course covered wound management, splinting, stop-the-bleed techniques, cold and heat-related emergencies, extrication, and a team-based scenario out in the woods.
One can never be too prepared!
Great turnout from area first responder groups, nursing, EMS, and community members.
