North Shore Health Art Program: Call for Artists and Artists’ Reception
GRAND MARAIS, MN – North Shore Health (NSH) has a proud history of displaying the creative work of local artists in their public areas. Since the program began in 2020, it has displayed new local works of art every 4 months in its rotating show.
We are pleased to announce two upcoming events celebrating the power of art in healing and the creativity and cultural identity of Cook County and the North Shore: June- September Artists’ Reception and a Call for Artists for the October- January show.
North Shore Health Artists’ Reception, September 29, 2026
North Shore Health will host and Artists’ Reception celebrating the June- September art and artists! On Tuesday September 29, from 4:00–5:15 p.m. join us in the NSH Multi‑Purpose Room and Lobby.
Community members are invited to explore current local art exhibits, meet the artists who contribute to NSH’s rotating displays, and enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments.
Call for Artists, Applications due September 20, 2026
NSH invites local artists to submit work for the NSH Local Art Show, a rotating public exhibition that highlights the talent and diverse perspectives of artists throughout the region. Artwork will be displayed October 5, 2026–January 29, 2027 in high‑visibility areas throughout the hospital for patients, visitors, residents, and staff to enjoy.
The works of art should reflect and celebrate the cultural, historical, geographical, and community identity of Cook County and the North Shore. Art submissions should encourage a feeling of peace and nature consistent with an ambience of quiet reflection in a health care delivery environment.
How to Apply
Artists interested in participating in this project should submit the following information:
- A letter of interest explaining your relevant experience and vision for the work of art you intend to provide.
- Specify the dimensions, display mechanics and framing, as applicable, of the intended works of art.
- A statement that you have read, understand and agree to the terms of the Ownership & Use (listed on our art show web page below).
- Please provide digital image(s) of the contemplated work(s) of art.
- Please provide artist’s phone number and email address.
Include the number of works of art you intend to submit for consideration.
