We are excited to celebrate two Cook County residents, Victoria “Tori” Pierce and Natalie “Nat” Irvin who recently passed their Minnesota State CNA Knowledge and Skills exams on June 29th.
They completed 75 hours of CNA education including 35 hours of OnTrack online study with two written exams, 24+ hours of in-person skills lab instruction and practice, and 16 hours of student practical training at North Shore Living.
The CNA role is foundational in healthcare- supporting daily living activities, observing and reporting changes in condition, and serving as trusted companions to residents and patients. CNAs are the heartbeat of patient and resident care. They are often the first to notice subtle changes, the steady presence on long shifts, and the hands that provide dignity and comfort every day.
Certification marks more than completion of training. It reflects commitment to safe care practices, infection control standards, resident rights, and hands-on clinical skill validation. It represents an investment in the future of healthcare in Cook County.
As a rural health system, growing and supporting our own caregivers strengthens our entire community. Each CNA who completes certification increases our capacity to provide compassionate, high-quality care close to home.

Preparing for the state evaluation takes focus, practice, and confidence. Successfully completing it demonstrates both clinical competence and deep commitment to patient-centered care.
