Visitors are always welcome at North Shore Health. Please respect the visitation guidelines of the individual care units (emergency room, hospital, nursing home) as well as the special restrictions posted on patient and resident room doors.

Per the end of the public health emergency (PHE) and changes of CDC/MDH guidelines, as of 6:00 a.m. on May 17, 2023, masks no longer need to be worn in standard healthcare settings. This includes the Hospital and the Care Center. Masks are now optional in the Hospital and the Care Center. Masks are available at all entrances. New Respiratory Illness Safety Policy signs have been posted at all entrances.

North Shore Health will continue to track and monitor COVID-19 trends in the community as well as grouping with other respiratory illnesses such as Flu A, B and RSV.

FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR PATIENTS AND STAFF:

Respiratory Illness Safety Policy signs have been posted at all entrances. If you have any questions, or concerns, please contact Troy Batchelor, Director of Nursing or Jason Yuhas, CIO, ICD, QIC:

If you are visiting and have tested positive for Influenza A, Influenza B, RSV or COVID-19 in the past 10 days, please do not enter.

If you are here for treatment of a respiratory illness, please wear a mask and check in at Registration.

Policies are subject to change.

General Guidelines:

  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building or on the campus.
  • Visitors must conduct themselves in a quiet and orderly manner.
  • Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient or resident.
  • Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients or residents.
  • Pets may accompany visitors; see our pet visitor policy.
  • It is helpful if nursing staff know when a visitor is expected so patients and residents are prepared for visitors and treatments can be planned around a visit if possible.

General Visiting Hours: 6a.m.-8p.m.
Visitation outside of these hours may be arranged with nursing staff.

Please remember that North Shore Health’s policies are intended to ensure the health of our patients and community; please call 218-387-3040 with any additional questions.
