Beginning January 1, 2021 the US Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are requiring hospital and health systems to post their current standard charges and a list of shoppable services.
Hospital price transparency helps Americans know the cost of a hospital item or service before receiving it.
Each hospital will be required to provide clear, accessible pricing information on the items and services they provide. This information must be provided on the facility’s website and be offered in two ways:
