Darin Willardsen is the Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Virtual, our telemedicine company for hospitals. He has recently served as the Chief Medical Officer of the Central Minnesota Health Network and the Virtual Health Medical Director at CentraCare Health in St. Cloud Minnesota. Prior to his current position, he was the Vice President – Chief Medical Information Officer for 10 years. During this time, he has worked with EMR implementation throughout Central Minnesota including 6 hospitals and 50(+) multispecialty clinics within the system along with 6 unaffiliated community connect hospitals and 20 community connect clinics. Recently, he has also functioned as the Chief Medical Officer, developing the Central Minnesota Clinically Integrated Health Network and Virtual Health programs. These programs and services hope to facilitate seamless transfer of patient and provider communication and collaboration to over 700 providers and over 500,000 patients in central Minnesota. He continues to also work as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist and Virtual Health Physician. He is one of the founders of Horizon Virtual and has been with CentraCare Health since 2000.

Dr. Willardsen has also functioned as a senior leader of the Hospitalist group which currently employs over 50 hospitalists and Advanced Practice Providers. Darin has recently completed his Master’s in Business Administration degree at the University St. Thomas in Minneapolis. In his personal life, Darin enjoys the outdoors, piloting the family/business airplane, and spending quality time with his wife and three children as they keep him otherwise very busy.
